Here is a summary with spoilers for Obsessively Yours
Violet and Vivan are identical twins, but their personalities couldn’t be more different. Violet prefers to stay in the background, creating things and making people laugh. Her sister, Vivan, is training to be a soldier and dreams of being the best. At a young age, Violet meets Crown Prince Roman at school. She makes him laugh, and from that moment on, Roman wants to be near her.
When all three turn thirteen, the gods whisper a name into Roman’s mind—his future mate. The name is Vivan. Roman is unsure how to feel. He wishes it had been Violet, but the gods have spoken, and nothing can change that.
As the years pass, the dynamics between them shift. Violet and Roman grow closer, while Vivan continues her intense training. She also hides a secret: a boyfriend. Roman, bonded to her by the gods, can feel her pleasure and knows she is with someone else. Despite everything, his connection with Violet deepens.
Then, a rebel attack strikes the castle. Roman hides Violet in his private chambers, promising she’ll be safe. But when he returns, the room is in chaos, and Violet is sobbing. She survived, but the trauma leaves lasting scars. Unable to stay near the castle, she transfers to another school. When Roman confronts her, she confesses that she loves him—but loving him will only make things harder, knowing he’s destined to marry her sister. She asks for space. Roman agrees but swears he will come back to her. For two years, he keeps his distance but watches her from afar, always searching for her, always present even when Violet doesn't know it.
During that time, Violet grows close to War, Roman’s bonded animal, who protected her during the attack. Yet even after two years, she still hasn’t healed from what happened. At nineteen, she begins to move on and starts dating a boy named Dom. They sleep together, but the next day, Dom brags about it to his training class. Roman hears and nearly beats Dom to death. Violet doesn’t date anyone for the next year.
At twenty, Violet opens her own seamstress shop, working with soldiers and their uniforms. That’s when she meets Titus. They begin dating and stay together for a year. As Roman and Vivan’s wedding approaches, Roman becomes desperate. He tells Vivan that he knows neither of them are happy and gives her permission to go back to her true love. She doesn’t cancel the wedding right away, but just days before the ceremony, Roman goes to his parents to refuse the bond.
Suddenly, he feels a searing pain. The bond with Vivan has broken. He races to Violet, hoping she might know what happened, only to find her crying. She received a letter from Titus that morning. He confessed that he only dated her because she looked like Vivan, his true love. He thought being with Violet would help him move on and get revenge, but instead, he fell in love with her. A few weeks ago, Vivan came back to him, and he agreed to marry her and run away.
Roman is thrilled. The bond is gone, and now he’s free to pursue Violet. Over the next year, he and Violet slowly grow close again. She is cautious, and they remain friends at first. Everything changes when Violet decides to travel the kingdoms for a year to learn about fashion and clothing. Roman is devastated, but he sends guards with her, and they write to each other throughout her journey. Eventually, Roman admits he loves her and plans to marry her when she returns. Violet agrees.
A week before Roman’s coronation, he waits at the gates for Violet’s return. But the rebels attack. Vivan is among them. Violet is injured but escapes. Roman takes her back to the palace and into a new fortress he built just for her. Vivan’s story gets a few chapters. She is bitter and heartbroken, used as a pawn—presumably by Titus. Her mission now is to bring Violet into the rebel camp.
Violet is happy to be reunited with Roman, but tension arises when she runs into Marissa, an old friend of Roman’s who claims he once loved her. She shows Violet a very explicit letter, supposedly written by Roman. Furious, Violet confronts him. Roman admits the letter was written for Violet but was never sent. He also reveals that he has killed or threatened every man from her past—except Titus, though he plans to kill him soon. He decides to imprison Marissa, but Violet ultimately chooses to let her go.
On their shared twenty-fifth birthday, Roman fears that a new name might appear as his bonded mate. At midnight, he hears it: Violet. She wakes moments later, and the two become fully bonded. The next day, they decide to marry.
Titus then gets a chapter of his own. Marissa returns to him with the news that Violet and Roman are married. Titus is heartbroken—he truly did love Violet—and prepares the rebels for an attack.
A few days later, Violet is outside when she is confronted by Vivan, who claims she wants to help. Vivan shares everything she knows about the rebels, but it’s too late. Titus and his forces emerge from the trees, and a battle breaks out. Vivan is captured by Roman, and Titus is killed.
With the fighting over, Roman decides it's time for Violet’s coronation. He silences those who oppose her, and the ceremony goes smoothly. Ten years later, the couple lives in peace, raising a child together and enjoying the life they fought so hard to earn.
